“I grew up without shoes, I just want to help.” – Oumarou Idrissa
Transforming lives step by step. . .
“Walk a mile in my shoes” is easier said than done, especially when there aren’t any shoes to walk in.
Since 2014, Afrikicks have been collecting and donating shoes to people stricken by extreme poverty in Niger, West Africa.
Our philosophy is “Ubuntu” which is a belief in the universal bond of sharing and the principle of caring for each other’s well-being. It is our responsibility as humans to watch over and take care of each other. Ubuntu means that people are people through other people. It is the acknowledgement of both the rights and the responsibilities of every citizen in promoting individual and societal well-being.
There is no better tribute to Afrikicks than to be the sole provider of practical needs such as clothes, shoes, socks, undergarments, etc to people affected by poverty in villages throughout African countries.
Afrikicks strives to foster talents in sports to ultimately transform and improve the lives of children and young adults who live with extreme poverty.
Afrikick’s provides hope and inspiration to those who are most vulnerable.
Transform the lives of children and young adults stricken by extreme poverty and living in the most rural areas of Africa, step by step.
To provide essential relief and to inspire and influence talents in sports and entertainment to aid in transforming the lives of children and young adults who lack access to opportunities.
To promote the spirit of “Ubuntu” mutual support.
Transparency, integrity and commitment to service.
We value “Ubuntu” a belief in a universal bond of sharing and the principle of caring for each other’s well-being.
“Being human is given, but keeping our humanity is a choice”.
We take full responsibility for using our resources efficiently and being accountable to our donors, partners and supporters.
Health, Hope, Happiness, Inspiration, Education, Sports.
The power of a good pair of shoes to a child with few possessions, who are living under extreme poverty conditions, can have paramount effects on a child’s future. Around the world, shoes protect children against diseases and infections from walking barefoot, keeping children healthy.
New shoes provide happiness to children, as they feel loved and supported unconditionally. Shoes represent hope to children as having shoes removes a barrier to school attendance. Shoes bring comfort and opportunity to children to obtain an education. With a new pair of sneakers children are more willing and interested in playing sports than when playing without shoes.
Please support our rapidly growing mission.
We need your support now more than ever. Every year we collect more shoes than the previous years. We need your help raising funds to use towards the cost of storage, shipment and local transportation of the shoes from village to village.
Your support is crucial to our success.
As the years go by we expand and have since gained enormous support. Together we can transform the lives of children who don’t posses basic necessities, which they see as luxuries. Donating your time, shoes and money can allow us to continue to operate and eventually help kids all around the world not just in African countries.
So far we have shipped over 60,000 pairs of shoes to Africa. Donate, give shoes and participate in the work we are doing to ensure children and young adults live active, healthy, happy and vibrant lives.
