THERE ARE 300 MILLION CHILDREN WITHOUT SHOES TODAY.
Afrikicks provides immediate relief to the ongoing crisis of 300 million children lacking the basic necessity of shoes, worldwide. A reality. Astonishingly, over 22 billion pairs of shoes are dumped in the trash every single year. We believe, that by working together, we can resolve this unnecessary pain and suffering in our lifetimes.
By working cooperatively with likeminded organizations, brand partners, and sponsors, Afrikicks ensures cooperation with local leaders, elders, and Government. We provide assistance with integrity to co-create conscionable action plans which ultimately help children, young adults, and poverty-stricken communities drive outcomes of peace, crisis relief, and socio-economic development to scale.
Awareness: Hundreds of millions of children today suffer from extreme poverty, inadequate living situations, and a lack of basic resources, all of which can cause disease, infection, trauma, and serious injury.
Ubuntu is our first response to any crisis. An African proverb, Ubuntu can be translated to “I am, because you are”.
Known as the universal bond of sharing and caring for each other, Ubuntu is our Afrikicks foundation.
Founded by award-winning humanitarian Oumarou "Omar" Idrissa, Afrikicks has grown into one of world's greatest demonstrations of action-based humanitarianism. We encourage cooperation, and hold standing relationships with government and local leaders. Afrikicks is a safe and neutral, non-discriminatory, equal and fair peacekeeping unit. We are here to support humanitarian efforts that help children and young adults.
AFRIKICKS HAS SERVED IN 10 COUNTRIES AND OVER 2 CONTINENTS, INCLUDING AFRICAN, NORTH AMERICAN, CENTRAL AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN REGIONS.
On our mission, it became evident that almost double the amount of children without shoes were in immediate need of clean drinking water. As our nonprofit has grown, we have expanded our humanitarian aid support and services. Our second humanitarian assignment has focused on the construction of 12 life-saving water towers in remote and rural villages. The program, L'CEAU LA VIE, or WATER IS LIFE, has helped impoverished communities gain access to clean water, some for the first time in their lives.
